Thoughts 08.28.17 till today

Massive headache... Please go away.

How many people does it seriously take to ask the same question in a 3 minute span? - TWO!!!

Sure, I've got 15 different responsibilities that need to be done before month end. I really don't mind stopping what I'm doing because you can't find what you need.

It's too damn hot... Dripping should not be a norm.

Gas bubbles, stop making me look so bloated that everyone thinks I'm pregnant.

Jeopardy Info Sheet - A List of Five Interesting Facts

If your a Jeopardy! fan like my family has been for many years, you're familiar with the game show format of answers in the form of a question.  Well, that's not what this post is all about.  After the first commercial break, Alex Trebek, as you know, will discuss a certain topic with each contestant.  If you're like me, you might wonder how these subjects come about, and how Alex knows what to talk about with the participants.  Mental Floss recently wrote an article about it.  From what they say, Jeopardy! will email a information package to each contestant.  On one of the sheets ask that they list five interesting facts about themselves.  As you know, I love completing these type of questionnaires...  Here are my responses from the sample list in the article:

What's the most romantic thing you've done or had done to you?

What's your most treasured possession?

What's your secret ambition?

Any brushes with greatness?

Now that I've answered them, let's see yours!!!  Copy and paste the questions in the comments section, and share your answers!

The Boss Style

Prompt: Describe a former boss you have had, or your current boss.  Did you learn anything from them?  What type of management style did they have?

A former boss that I had was great, but very passive. She would go about her day-to-day business, and the only thing that mattered was that you complete your daily tasks. We, in the department, did that, plus more. However, our extra efforts were never acknowledged. We always went beyond performing responsibilities that were never a part of our job descriptions. It was always recognized, but never appreciated. Upper management filled her ears with what they felt was right. When it came to supporting her staff, she always sided with what the boss wanted because, from our eyes, she believed that was the right way to go. It became frustrating towards the latter months of my employment that my efforts to be the best employee I could be diminished.

I have had my share of voicing my opinion since Day 1. I truly believe in having a constructive atmosphere to work in, but I always felt that management ought to deliver positivity in the office. A company should always value their team. Therefore, when expressing my "concerns" to my boss, it always felt that I, as she has specified previously, was not a "family" thing to do.  A complaint of discomfort with an employee's conduct towards me was deemed yet one more issue for them to deal with. In the end, it became, to some degree, a matter tucked away given that I was now branded as trouble.

Ultimately, I no longer work for the company.  This supervisor shall resume finding success, along with upper management, with the team they have built.  I am on a continued journey to discover my place in the workforce.  Overall, what I take from this knowledge is that I should never doubt myself to regain happiness.  I devoted the last two years at this establishment deeming myself worthless and unaccomplished on a daily basis because I had lost confidence as a person, and not an employee.  For me, the lesson I walk away is that family supports each other.  She wanted us to be a family, but support was never there.  It is a two-way street...

500 Writing Prompts

As you know, my writing has diminished through the years. I've lived a pretty uneventful life since my mom has passed away, and have lived the same cycle of life.

I came across a series of books today at Barnes & Noble. Each book had a theme ... Art/drawing, journaling, and the book in the picture. Many of these prompts are rather interesting. So, every week, I'll pick a prompt and write about it. It could be a paragraph, it could be more. Completely depends on how my creative writing flows...

The Thoughts

I have been through many ups and downs in my life.

Broken hearts, love... Anger, loss... Struggles just to have a life I feel I deserve...

I spent yesterday morning full of resentment. I wasn't exactly angry, per we, but resentful.

In a way, I acted a bit selfish by putting my needs first. It stemmed from the fact that I didn't want to go to school. I just wanted to lock myself up in my room, bundle up under the blankets, and lay in bed with no one to disturb me - that included my husband, my dad, and even the dog.

I know, due to circumstances, my husband stays home. The way I see it? Hubs can do whatever he wants, go wherever he his able to get to, sleep for as long, or little, as he can or wants. Me? The responsibilities kick in. I have a job where I deal with people I don't want to deal with for eight (VERY LONG) hours. I hate driving. A 15 minute (sometimes 20-25 minutes going home) commute is very long for me. Have I mentioned that I HATE driving? So, just the thought of having to get up to go to work, let alone DRIVE to work, adds to the feelings.

Anyway, to bring everything back to perspective, the resentment carries on. I feel that the burden falls unto me. I feel like I often cannot enjoy the life that I want... I deserve... Now, don't get me wrong. This isn't necessarily directed to anyone.  This is all because of the circumstances of my current life. It all a feeling of no sense of control. I often find it as a punishment where one thing wrong leads to another. I resent the fact that I see people doing things, enjoying things, having things...

I should not feel this way...

Life Can Be Unfair

Recently, I have had feelings of anger... disappointment... anxiety...

There have been times where I feel that everything that happens seem to go wrong.

There have been times where I have experienced one thing where I feel lost, where I cannot connect with anyone.  However, those that have encountered similar situations do not receive the same treatments, feelings.

Feeling Sick

I often wonder if I am slightly a hypochondriac. I've had horrible migraines, sore throats and stomach ailments. However, I can never pinpoint the cause of it. Is it my diabetes? Is it allergies? Did I eat something my body didn't agree with? It could be one, or some, or all if it! Who knows?

This sick feeling makes me start to wonder how I live my life. It isn't necessarily the best kind of life... It's the life of convenience and the right decisions. I have no excuses for it, so I may be punishing my body.

I seriously hate this feeling. I live my on medications, which will be for my whole entire life. So, medications to make me feel better? I'd rather feel crappy, and wonder if it's all in my head!

New Transitions

Changes have occurred recently - for both myself and my husband. Both have been a positive aspect in the troublesome 4+ years that we have endured. Between job losses and personal losses, there have been times where the worst of me had wanted to give up.

Disappointment

Has there ever been a moment where you place all your trust in a person just to have it ruined by one thing? Well, tonight I felt that I just went through all that. I feel so hurt that i just want to ball up in a corner to cry. It is just so disappointing that I seriously can feel my heart ache. It makes me question how much respect I actually do get from a person that I feel so easily hurt from this. It often feels exhausting to even try and put up a fight to voice out how this makes me feel. It hurts even more the person doesn't even want to hear it. It makes me cry that I don't even get an "I'm sorry" from all this. It's these kinds of moments were I've lost hope... Given up... Not wanting to deal with it anymore... Just walk away...
